Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Labor Analytics collaborates with the AVP of Labor Analytics & Reporting, PI Group VPs, and various other PI constituents execute the labor analytics strategies through data analysis and reporting. The Director of Labor Analytics will be responsible for assisting with the creation of new analytical tools, supporting current reporting needs, and addressing ad-hoc requests. This role interfaces with Corporate and Division based PI resources.
This position will work closely with various technical, reporting, and clinical resources to identify and support key strategies by leveraging data from various financial and operational systems. The Director Labor Analytics oversees the development of routine static reports and dynamic web-based reporting tools designed to ensure that the company’s labor management strategies can be efficiently executed and sustained. This position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the labor analytics work product of the Performance Improvement department. The Director is responsible for the preparation and presentation of pertinent analyses to senior executives. This individual must possess strategic vision, excellent communication skills, proven motivational capabilities, have an executive presence, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Works with PI leadership to identify and prioritize labor management strategies that can be developed for enterprise wide or market specific rollout.
Serves as liaison with IT resources on the best platforms to disseminate actionable information to Division and facility executives.
Manages and refine, as necessary, existing labor management tools.
Conducts routine data analysis on various financial expense measures to present pertinent trends to Corporate and Division PI leadership.
Develops analytical tools to support the company's labor management strategies.
Identifies and supports the learning and development needs for the PI organization as it relates to analytics.
Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment.
Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across HCA.
Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in relevant work experience required
5+ years of experience in analytics field (reporting and/or development preferred)
Experience and/or skills in report development, reconciliation, and analyzing data across multiple systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, SQL, and extracting data from EDW
Development experience in dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI or QlikView / QlikSense) is strongly preferred
Experience in data movement tools (Alteryx, Informatica, SSIS) is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Executive-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a matrix environment is a must.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related areas required
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering or related areas preferred
