　　Performance and Capacity Engineer Responsibilities:

　　Responsible for scaling Meta’s web capacity and identifying capacity-related issues

　　Work with cross-functional teams to find the optimal way to scale the infrastructure and help build one of the largest Internet services and scale the largest web capacity in the world

　　Contribute to overall Meta capacity planning work for all different products/services and recommend DC expansion plan, define network requirements

　　Tackle state-of-the-art hardware performance issues with solutions developed with cross-functional teams utilize ability to apply them to production problems and contribute to architectural decisions

　　Employ general knowledge across the following areas: data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, and operating systems

　　$140,876.15/year to $158,000.00/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. 　　Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, or related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

　　Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#

　　Relational databases and SQL

　　Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

　　Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

　　Build highly-scalable performant solutions

　　Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability

　　Algorithms

　　High-performance computing: parallelization technique such as OpenMP, MPI, or CUDA

　　Industry: Internet
