Summary:
Cook Children's Health Care System located in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, and in partnership with Covenant Children's Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, has launched a national search for two Pediatric Surgeons to join it's growing surgical practice. The new associates will play a key role in the further development of surgical and specialty services across West Texas.
Cook Children's Health Care System is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care organization comprised of a Medical Center, Physician Network, Home Health company, Pediatric Surgery Center, Urgent Care Centers, Health Plan and Health Foundation. Cook Children's Medical Center is a freestanding 462-bed quaternary care pediatric hospital that is consistently ranked by US News and World Report. The integrated system has more than 60 primary and specialty care offices throughout North and West Texas, serving a 23-county referral network. The Cook Children's Physician Network is the largest pediatric multi-specialty physician group in its service area with over 600 employed subspecialty and primary care providers.
Covenant Children's (CCH) is part of Covenant Health, and its parent Providence-St Joseph Health, which has a history of over 100 years of service to the West Texas/Panhandle Plains and eastern New Mexico region. Covenant Children's is a 227-bed facility and is the only licensed freestanding children's hospital in the area. CCH operates a level IV NICU and is verified as a level II Pediatric Trauma Center. CCH is also a regional provider of high-risk maternal care. CCH has over 175 physicians on medical staff, representing nearly all major pediatric subspecialties (neurosurgery, general surgery, neurology, cardiology, GI, ENT, Endocrine, ID, Hematology-Oncology, Pulmonology, Adolescent Medicine, among others).
Key Programmatic Highlights:
Cook Children's has established a strategic clinical and surgical relationship with Covenant Children's Hospital in Lubbock. New surgeons will be employed by Cook Children's Physician Network. Comprehensive fiscal and programmatic resource support from both Cook and Covenant Children's Hospitals for the expansion of quality surgical care and outpatient and inpatient services. Quality of life assurance through the provision of call support through Cook Children's Physician Network and locum's services.Interested candidates will have the opportunity for faculty appointments and teaching opportunities with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Qualified candidates may participate in the fellow's retention program that will provide a monthly stipend of $2,500 from employment through the start of practice with Cook Children's.Highly competitive compensation and benefits package including:Base salary with RVU productivity-based incentivesSalary will be guaranteed for the first 2 years of employment. A signing bonus or a fellow's stipend will be provided to qualified applicants. J-1 / H-1B immigration support for qualified candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
Candidates must have completed or be in the process of completing an accredited pediatric surgery fellowship training program, be board certified/board eligible in pediatric surgery and must be qualified to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License before commencing employment.
