They will be active participants in the design of Products, and their work will have a direct impact on the build yield and longevity of Starlink designs. PCBA Reliability Engineers are also expected to be proactive in seeking process improvements, conducting experiments and rolling in changes to enhance PCBA designs.RESPONSIBILITIES:As a member of the design team, work in collaboration with Manufacturing and Supplier Development Engineers to drive requirements for SMT process across satellite and gateway programsAdvocate and drive consolidation of SMT assembly requirements, aligning internal and external SMT productsPerform reviews of PCBs before release to address manufacturing issues such as thermal unbalancing, component breakout and footprint designIdentify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturingDevelop test vehicles to validate and propose new process, in particular for new designs and new siliconDrive corrective actions into designs based on manufacturing defects and yield issuesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other STEM discipline1+ years work experience in SMT processing and/or microelectronics packaging either from industry, research, internships or academic projectsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience with reliability modeling of solder jointsExperience with automated PCB review softwareExperience with Xpedition Design SoftwareScripting and data analysis experience using Python, Excel, Matlab or similarKnowledge of supplier quality processes (production part approval process, advanced product quality planning, first article inspection reports, etc.)Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods, e.g., design of experiments, Six Sigma, etc.Masters degree in Material ScienceADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to do minimal travelAbility to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlinesCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range:Level I: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/per yearLevel II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
