Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Description:

Prepare and process payroll-related information and adjustments, including retro-active payments for Union payroll.

Ensure accuracy of payroll items for union employees.

Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

Develop post-payroll reporting as needed.

Confirm and email appropriate reports and files to internal and external customers.

Maintain internal document filing system.

Effectively communicate with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.

Research and answer Union employee inquiries in electronic customer service payroll software dashboard.

Assist Union employees with navigating ESS in Paycom.

Complete verification of employment and income forms for union employees.

Provide information for workers' compensation forms.

Print and issue checks weekly to the union.

Perform other job duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

4-5+ years of full cycle payroll experience

Good understanding of general payroll rules and regulations (garnishments, withholdings, payroll laws, etc.)

Proficiency in Excel and Word

Experience with Paycom software is a plus

Experience processing high volume payroll (at least 200 weekly)

Strong attention to detail

Additional Skills Qualifications

Experience with union payroll is beneficial

Ability to approve timesheets, ensure time accuracy, and assist employees with timesheet and Paycom inquiries

Positive attitude

Comfortable with a demanding position

Not afraid of a challenge

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
