  Textron is hiring a Payroll & Benefits Analyst to oversee payroll operations and benefits/leave administration for our Corporate Office based in Providence RI. The selected candidate will be process oriented, data driven, and customer focused. This role provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Finance and Global Payroll and Benefits teams.

  Responsibilities and initiatives include:

  Payroll Administration

  Deliver accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll including wage and overtime payments, calculations and recording of payroll deductions. Prepare manual payments when required.

  Verify timekeeping records, maintain time and attendance records using employee timesheets and electronic time management system.

  Perform research and analysis to extract and interpret data from various sources.

  Troubleshoot payroll operations issues, partner with enterprise payroll to identify solutions and support implementations.

  Lead bi-weekly payroll audits to identify any issues and manage corrections promptly and completely.

  Manage employee communications on any payroll system/process changes or when individual payroll corrections are required.

  Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for payroll activities in partnership with enterprise payroll team.

  Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state laws and regulations. Consult Enterprise payroll team and/or employment counsel on more complex matters.

  Participate in bi-weekly payroll production meetings with payroll vendor and business unit counterparts.

  Generate reports and audit materials for financial reporting purposes.

  Benefits & Leave Administration

  Manage leave of absence and disability claims with the disability vendor and payroll partners.

  Maintain communication with employees on leave of absence to stay informed of leave status, answer questions and ensure payroll is administered accurately.

  Provide leave status updates to employees, HR business partners and managers as appropriate.

  Educate employees about their benefits using effective communication strategies and outlets. Inform employees about any changes to benefits and/or benefit processes.

  Contribute to the revision of existing programs/policies and partner with benefit strategy and administration team on new programs/policies.

  Communicate with Enterprise benefits team and insurance carriers to resolve issues.

  Assist employees with the benefits enrollment process during new hire orientation, life events and annual enrollment periods.

  Generate vendor reports for financial reporting purposes (MetLife, Wage Works, United Way).

  General

  May support HR generalists with special projects.

  Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records including, but not limited to, personal and compensation information about employees.

  Qualifications

  Education and Experience

  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, or related field.

  Minimum three years of experience in a payroll function.

  Demonstrated experience administering payroll for salaried and hourly populations. Experience with ADP preferred.

  Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws impacting payroll.

  Managing Complexity – makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

  Ensures Accountability – holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.

  Optimizes Work Processes – knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  Collaborates – builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, involves others to accomplish goals and shares information effectively. Partners may include enterprise payroll and benefits teams, HR Business Partners, Finance, and IT.
