The Payroll Administrator opportunity will be located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota as a long-term contract / temporary to hire role.
What you get to do every day
Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll
Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
Handle all payroll information questions and requests
Review source documents with necessary verification
Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities
Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary
Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports Requirements - Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Solid understanding of ADP Online
Adeptness in Computerized Accounting System
Demonstrated knowledge of Light Accounting
Administrative experience experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Administrative Assistance experience highly desired
Clerk Job experience
Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Mastery of internal controls
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
