Job Summary: FD Thomas is seeking a Payroll Analyst for our corporate office, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about achieving goals. This person will be responsible for performing a variety of payroll administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of our payroll department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify timekeeping records, attendance and leave balances to calculate hours worked and resolve discrepancies.
Work directly with union auditors to provide requested documentation.
Monthly union reporting and reconciliation.
Prepare and process fringe benefit payments.
Reconcile, report & pay child support payments through an online account.
Make weekly payroll tax deposits.
Responsible for reviewing, maintaining and, collecting updated union collective bargaining agreements along with current wage rate sheets.
Review & balance timecard totals with payroll register for each company payroll.
Backup payroll processing and certified payroll reporting.
Review, maintain and update employee SUI tax state within the employee record.
Reconcile, maintain and update employee PTO balances between systems to ensure accuracy of available time off balances.
Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
Various tasks assigned by the payroll manager, which could include but not limited to, assisting with internal audits, assisting with quarterly and annual returns, creating SOP's for the payroll department.
Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
3+ year Payroll experience with a solid understanding of payroll processes and tax regulations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure precise payroll calculations and data accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Problem solving abilities to address payroll-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
