This opportunity is intended for applicants without a Colorado POSTCertification (Non-Certified). Candidates who are extended an offer ofemployment will have the opportunity to attend a POST Academy with tuitionpaid for by our Office, and will be paid by the LCSO while attending.

Relocation Reimbursement - Applicants that are hired for any of our swornpositions and live more that 30 miles from LCSO, 2501 Midpoint Dr. FortCollins, CO 80525, and move to Fort Collins or close surrounding areas,will receive relocation reimbursement of $2,500 on the first paycheckafter being hired. Please note - this reimbursement is taxable.
GI Bill - Applicants that are previous military and are GI Bill eligible mayqualify to be reimbursed through your GI Bill during the training period forthis position.Buddy Bonus - If you and a friend apply at the same time and arehired, you each receive $500 bonus after completing our mini-academygraduation. This reimbursement is taxable.Responsibilities
Recruits will spend several months in a classroom setting and will be paid ata non-certified rate of $34.3124 per hour until successfully receivingColorado POST Certification. Once certification is complete, the wage willincrease to $37.7436 per hour and the duties and expectations will sift toDeputy-Certified.Specifically, a Patrol Deputy:
Answers calls for service: completes appropriate paperwork; testify incourt; resolve conflict; complete required training; communicate clearlywith citizens and other law enforcement professionals; dispense informationto those who need it.
Responsible for the protection of life and property; prevention of crimes;apprehension of criminals.
Enforces Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
Effects arrests under various circumstances.
Determines when there is a reasonable suspicion to detain, when probablecause exists to search and arrest, and when appropriate force may be usedand to what degree.
Enforces laws and ordinances while protecting the rights of citizens.
Gathers information in criminal investigations by interviewing and obtainingthe statements of victims, witnesses, suspects, and confidential informers.Nonessential Functions
When a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by the Board ofCommissioners, all Larimer County employees may be required to work as aDisaster Service Worker.

High school diploma or GED required.Must be at least 21 years of age by date of hire.First aid and comm nity CPR certificates required within 12 weeks from date ofhire.Possession of a valid Driver's License required.No criminal convictions as defined by Colorado P.O.S.T. required.Supplemental Information
