About Patient Services Specialist - Registration

  Description

  Responsible for the efficient and orderly registration of inpatients and outpatients in the Emergency Department. Ensures that accurate patient information is collected in a prompt and courteous manner.

  Required Qualifications:

  Coursework/Training Knowledge of medical terminology obtained college coursework. Or equivalent educ/experience

  1 year Experience in customer service or healthcare registration.

  Healthcare experience, in either a provider or payor site.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Coursework/Training Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course.

  Upon hire: National Certification of CHAA

  Registrar and third-party payor experience.

  Experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including: Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA, and ABN.
