Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced PatientService Coordinator at our Rose Medical Center campus location. This positionoffers both Front Office and Back Office responsibilities.We realize that it sounds cliche but it is true - taking care of cancerpatients is a calling. It's much more than a job. Responsibilities
Schedules follow-up appointments in the practice management system followingthe provider order and/or office protocol in a clinic setting.Cancels/reschedules appointments according to patient or physicianscheduling changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect thepatient and clinic/practice.Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the frontoffice. Covers for other front office functions as requested.May schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions uponrequest. May obtain necessary authorization and pre-certification as required.May communicate to patient about tests being scheduled and potential prep workneeded, inquiring about test specifics from necessary parties and gatheringpatient information as neededMedical Records duties such as: Scan and attach, Pull charts for scheduledappointments, print, email, and/or fax patient chart informationEscorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatmentroom as appropriate.Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but notlimited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.Salary Range: $18.29-$23.00Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, workexperience, certification, etc. As of the date of this posting, inaddition to your salary, RMCC offers the following benefits for thisposition, subject to eligibility requirements: Health, dental, andvision plans; wellness program; health savings account; flexiblespending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance,short-term disability insurance; long-term disability insurance, EmployeeAssistance Program; PTO, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, andemployee paid critical illness and accident insurance.
Qualifications
At least two years front medical office experienceExperience working in a practice management system with insurance forms andappointment scheduling preferredExcellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must be comfortablecommunicating with medical professionals as an integral part of the care teamHigh level organization, attention to detail and prioritizing requiredElectronic Medical Record and or Practice Software Proficiency requiredSuccessfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of hireAdapts to daily work challenges confidentlyIs willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities,demonstrates flexibility"Work efficiently to achieve high performance standards"Work history reflects quality delivery of serviceHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative ofthose that mu t be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job. The position requires corrected visionand hearing to normal range.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicablediseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations andother conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Workwill involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/orclients.
