Summary Description
Under general supervision, as assigned and according to established procedures performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and patient care duties for the designated Radiology department. Schedules, greets and registers patients for various diagnostic procedures. Obtains and verifies insurance information and enters into computer information system. Ensures processing of all necessary paperwork related to specific patients and procedures. Receive patients and visitors to the Department in a courteous, friendly manner.
Verify appointments, check-in patients in Capstone, notify appropriate area of Department of patient’s
arrival, place orders as needed and coordinate the timely, safe and efficient transport of patients to and
from scheduled examinations, diagnostic tests, procedures and treatments. Handle incoming telephone calls, place confirmation calls for scheduled appointments and follow-up calls in a courteous, friendly manner. Assist Technologist in their area (CT/US/x-ray/portables) to safely position, lift, and move patients, as needed. Monitor inpatients and outpatients to be available to address their needs. Assist radiologists and residents, as needed. Promote guest relations; and anticipate and respond to needs of others; provide assistance in a courteous, quick manner, treat others with care and respect maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dignity. Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment. Performs various other clerical duties such as filing, distributing mail, copying, preparing CD’s, prepare paperwork for scanning and pick up by Medical Records, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Six to twelve month’s related on-line computer scheduling experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desired.
4. Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
Skills Required
1. Interpersonal and/or communication skills to coordinate the flow of work, to work productively and to effectively communicate sensitive or confidential information with physicians, various hospital/clinic personnel, patients and families.
2. Clerical skills to perform moderately complex duties.
3. Computer skills to enter and retrieve data to/from information system database and to do word processing when necessary.
4. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients. Ability to push, pull and lift objects weighing more than 100 lbs.
