TekSystems is currently hiring for a Medical Secretary in the Bel Air, MD area!
MUST HAVE: 1-3 years of medical front desk experience (preferred)
OPEN to someone without healthcare if they have transferrable skills from a strong customer service or receptionist job
Description:
A successful candidate must have excellent personal skills and be comfortable working with patients in a clinical environment.
• Must be familiar with medical terminology.
• Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
• Similar positions include patient intake clerk and patient admissions clerk.
Typical duties of a patient registration clerk
• Interviewing incoming patients prior to admission to gather demographic, insurance and emergency information
• Ensuring completion of paperwork, sign-in and security procedures
• Explaining facility policies, preparing and distributing patient identification bands, and arranging for transportation to assigned rooms
• Additional duties may include collecting copayments, answering phones, assisting family members, and conducting research for prior medical records and account folders
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
1-3 years of medical front desk experience (preferred)

Must be computer proficient
Outstanding customer service
Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
