The shift for this position is “rotating”.

　　Position Summary: Provides general support tasks (clinical and non-clinical) for assigned patient care area. Works with other members of the patient care team to deliver care to patients in age groups including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. In addition, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for venipuncture and specimen collection following Laboratory protocols. Experience: No previous experience required.

　　High School Grad or Equivalent

　　Essential Functions:

　　Performs routine and specialized phlebotomy procedures.

　　Transports patients as needed, serves and retrieves trays, distributes water pitchers, orders and distributes nourishment. Participates in patient safety/patient satisfaction.

　　Correctly identifies patient, labels specimen accurately and follows the policy and procedure for obtaining specimens.

　　Answers call bells promptly.

　　Makes rounds to check on patients hourly. Reports any signs of abuse promptly.

　　Reports need for equipment repair.

　　Maintains neat and tidy environment (empties laundry, delivers equipment, keeps patient rooms clean and safe). Is authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties.

　　Participates in the delivery of patient care for patients of all age groups under the direction of an RN, including but not limited to:

　　Lifting, turning, and positioning patients

　　Observing confused and difficult patients

　　The pay for this position ranges from $16.00-$22.37 per hour.
