We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network. *Job Summary* The Patient Care Technician II (PCT II) is capable of monitoring cardiac rhythms and reports abnormal findings per unit standard. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCTII performs delegated functions while considering the age-specific needs of the patient. The PCT II assists in meeting the healthcare, safety, and comfort needs of the patients in accordance with the existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. They are a contributing member of the healthcare team, working to assist the patient in achieving established care outcomes. Monitors cardiac rhythms and reports changes to the appropriate Registered Nurse as they occur. Model quality patient/customer service by demonstrating a willingness to serve all customers at all times. Maintain awareness of patient needs while utilizing tact, discretion, and compassion in responding to those needs. Assist patients with activities of daily living and record in the medical record. High School Graduate or Equivalent Completion of certified nursing training program; or experience as home health aide; or enrolled in nursing program; or experience in or enrolled in a patient facing (clinical) vocation/field BLS certification is required within the first three months of employment. Successful completion of HHC arrhythmia interpretation class before the end of orientation. Preferred Requirements Previous patient care experience preferred. Experience using medical terminology preferred. Experience with continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring preferred. Certified Nurses Aid Certification OR presently enrolled in a Registered Nurse or other healthcare professional program with one semester of clinical rotation completed. Other healthcare certifications such as Medical Assistant, LPN, EMT, or similar will be considered. We take great care of careers.
