DescriptionSeidman Cancer Center is located on the main campus of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The hospital has four inpatient units, a total of 114 inpatient beds. Each floor focuses on patients with specific types of cancer, providing specialized infusion, clinical research, complex medical and surgical cancer care to patients. Inpatient unit subspecialties include: Heme- Malignancy, Cellular Therapy, Medical & Surgical oncology.Seidman Cancer Center offers an orientation curriculum focused on the unique care needs of the patient diagnosed with cancer, enrollment into Oncology Nursing Society's Oncology Nurse Orientation Program, oncology nurse residency for new graduate nurse during your first year of professional practice, access to over 200 continuing educational oncology modules, professional clinical ladder.The Patient Care Nursing Associate PCNA completes patient care activities as delegated by the RN. PCAs perform duties including, but not limited to, ADLs, vital signs, I and Os, 12 lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene and venipuncture where applicable. Familiarity with using wheelchairs, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.SCC3: Specializing in stem cell transplant, malignant hematology, conventional and high dose chemotherapy protocols, as well as supportive care. This unit has 30 beds with telemetry capability. The unit provides primary care to patients and runs with ICU/Step down staffing levels.SCC4: 30- bed inpatient unit specializing in patients with newly diagnosed solid tumor cancer, receiving chemotherapy, symptom management, as well as patients with a diagnosis of Sickle Cell Disease. The unit has telemetry and will open oncology step down beds later this year.SCC5: 30- bed surgical oncology telemetry unit that specializes in ENT, GU and Colorectal patient populations. The floor brings the necessary surgical providers, staff and services to the patient so the patient does not need to switch locations. Staffing ratios adjust based on the level of care required for the patient, ICU to step down to floor.SCC6: 24- bed surgical oncology unit specializing in gynecologic cancers, whipple/pancreaticduodenectomy procedures, brachytherapy treatment, breast, and plastic surgery.
