Scope
As a Patient Account Associate I / Payment Processor you need to know how to:
Identify appropriate payment details and save back-up as appropriate. Balancepayments to deposits in systems and applications. Post all payments to patientaccounts, using both electronic and manual posting systems.Research, validate and make adjustments to payment postings. Follow up inaccordance to procedures and policies with an overall goal of accountresolution.Post correspondence, zero payments, denials and any other additional itemsreceived from insurance to patient accounts.Research and follow-up on missing information, such as EOB and insuranceremittances. Contact payers as necessary to obtain detailed info in regard topayments.Meet department's productivity and quality goals.Promote mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abide by servicebehavior standards.Perform other duties as assigned..
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, requiredMinimum of six (6) months of revenue cycle experience OR one (1)year of previous cash handling experience, preferably including vocationaltraining/education in medical billing or medical records, requiredAt least one (1) year of revenue cycle experience, preferredPhysical Requirements:Interact with others by effectively communicating,both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipmentrequiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computermonitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods oftime to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and-May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies,bending, kneeling and reaching.
