General job duties. Types of procedures required.

　　Under the direction and supervision of a physician, perform gross description, dissection of human tissue, surgical specimens and performs postmortem exams. Triaging & opening cases.

　　Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.

　　EPIC/Beaker, Kubtec, Bone Saw

　　Required skills and minimum years of experience.

　　Min 1 year recent Pathology Assistant experience.

　　Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

　　Possess a Health and Human Services (HHS) approved laboratory certification as a Pathologists' Assistant. ASCP certification.

　　Due to changes within the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), employees hired on or before 2010 with no license are grandfathered.

　　Shift or schedule requirements.

　　8 hr Shifts start at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 (am). Mostly day, possibly an occasional weekend. We don't have call, but if we get backed up we do rotate who would come in and work at least 4 hours. They can choose to come in either Sat or Sun as well as the hours they would like to come in to give some autonomy.

　　Floating to over units/departments.

　　Will work at both the Apple Valley and Broadway locations.

　　Dress Code: Scrubs -provided

　　Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.

　　We have a thorough training/orientation process where new employees are checked off prior to grossing cases independently. Pathologists are additionally available for consult.
