You will be an integral part of an expert intellectual property team and will work collaboratively with patent attorneys and inventors to support our patent-related intellectual property function.

　　As a Patent Engineer, You Will:

　　Collaborate as part of new product development team to identify and protect patentable inventions

　　Research and analyze patents and advise business and engineering teams with respect to currently patented technologies

　　Assist business and engineering leadership with evaluation of inventions for possible patent filings

　　Manage the patent application process from initial application to granted patent

　　Coordinate patent application preparation and filing between company inventors and outside patent counsel

　　Review draft patent applications and responses to office actions and provide instructions to outside patent counsel

　　Conduct patent searches and evaluate search results

　　Work with patent counsel to develop and execute strategies for protecting products and technology with patents

　　Who You Are:

　　You are tech savvy and have an interest in the law. You thrive on innovation and would enjoy collaborating with a team of experts in legal and engineering fields. You are detailed oriented, but can easily distill and clearly communicate technically complex information both orally and in well-written work product.

　　Required Education, Experience & Skills:

　　Bachelor of science in engineering or technical field

　　Strong written and verbal communications skills

　　Technical, analytic and project management skills

　　Legal Authorization to work in the Unites States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

　　Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

　　Experience with patent preparation, prosecution, searching, analytics and portfolio management

　　Experience with HVACR industry and technology

　　Registered as patent agent with USPTO
