Position Overview:
The Parent Educator is responsible to perform home visits with families with children prenatal through the completion of kindergarten. Parent Educator will help parents understand their role in encouraging their child's development from the beginning. Parent Educator will help enhance parent’s involvement, improve child health and development, and increase school readiness. Parent Educator works with parents at home and through group connections hosted at the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct risk assessments for families.
Establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths.
Ability to connect parents to community resources to promote strengthening positive parent-child interactions.
Schedule and conduct visits with clients in person / virtual
Provide in an in-home activity for the family while sharing developmental information
Document visit plan and after-visit records
Perform outreach in the community.
Maintain family documentation and screenings for children and parents.
Attend biweekly meeting with program supervisor.
Attend biweekly Meet bi-weekly team meetings.
Attend monthly groups if possible.
Attend training to continue education for becoming Certified Recovery coach.
Provide resource connections in the community.
Provide specific resources for families that receive positive screening.
Attend PAT foundational training and foundational 2.
Attend children’s trust training mandatory for first year.
Update timecard daily & request time off as needed.
Read emails daily / morning check in daily on teams.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to work a hybrid schedule with mandatory in-office days.

Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Ability to learn new data systems
Proficient with computer skills; including Microsoft Office, web browsing, email, Internet, and word-processing.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Able to get on the floor and work with families/children during visits.
