Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, has opening for a Parts Finisher/Deburrer to perform post-machining deburring operations that involves smoothing rough edges from our small metal machined parts using various hand tools and examining components to ensure it meets product conformance . This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in learning this trade and working for a stable and reputable company. The successful candidate will have keen attention to detail, hand - eye coordination and can apply patience and touch of finesse while working in a high volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Using tools selected, remove burrs from parts (a burr is a rough area on a piece of metal that is left behind after the metal is cut/machined) as needed

Review the part information sheet to determine proper deburring tools for use

Count parts and record quantity and date in shop packet; move parts to next work center

Operate parts cleaning equipment to clean parts between processes

Check parts for machining irregularities and communicate problems to Quality Assurance

Requirements:

Experience working in manufacturing / machine shop is preferred

1 year of parts finishing, polishing, washing and / or deburring experience a plus

Ability to work independently and methodically

Able to work in a high volume production environment and meet production schedule

Good eye-hand coordination

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

Must be reliable and interested in full time steady employment

This position requires lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs, standing for long periods of time

Proficient manual dexterity required to hold and examine small machined parts using tools provided

Must be comfortable working in of a machine shop environment with exposure to oils, lubricants, solvents, and machine noises requiring safety glasses, nonslip shoes, and specific PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed per area.

Pay Range: $17.00 to 18.00 an hour
