Support classroom during Teacher and FT Teacher Assistant break times byassisting with the following: providing high quality, safe learningexperiences in the Domains of Approaches to Learning, Social andEmotional, Language and Literacy, Cognition, Perceptual, Motor, andPhysical Development for children ages 3 to 5, in a full day program;collecting on-going child observations and assessments, and implementingactivities to support individual child goals; creating positiveconnections with students and families Implement self-regulation andschool readiness strategies and support transitions to kindergarten.Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; CDA or AA inEarly Childhood Education or Child Development preferred and is requiredwithin 2 years of hire. Good oral and written communication skills;Experience working with children in a calm, gentle manner, and awillingness to learn appropriate classroom techniques and strategies inworking with children. The successful candidate must maintain visual andauditory supervision of children, interact actively with preschoolchildren in the classroom and on the playground, and lift or move up to50 pounds. This position involves working closely as a team member andfrequent interaction with parents and community members. Strictconfidentiality and attention to detail in record-keeping, reporting anddata entry is essential. This position provides additional hours forparticipation in Conscious Discipline training and additional programtraining, as assigned.
