This laborer position performs park, building, and grounds maintenance year-round. Position may work nights and weekends. Job duties include: Mows grass in parks, medians, and other designated areas. Performs weed control and brush clearing in parks, on trails, and other designated areas. Clears snow and ice from paved areas including parking lots, public sidewalks, walking paths, and other designated areas. Cleans, maintains, and repairs interior and exterior components of shelters, lodges, and gazebos in the park system. Picks up trash from receptacles in public parks and downtown area. Assists with maintenance and conditioning of various types of outdoor athletic fields and courts. Assists with the repair of playground equipment, park benches, and park signage. Assists with form setting and flooding ice rinks. Removes snow from flooded ice rinks. Assists with preparation for special events or projects. Performs light maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
