Description

A busy civil litigation firm is currently seeking an experienced litigation paralegal. The ideal candidate will bring at least four years of civil litigation experience, along with a firm understanding of discovery, proof of service on documents, and document handling. This role centers on the support of attorneys with the goal of managing cases to ensure the practice runs smoothly. The litigation paralegal will be a valued member of a long-standing and successful practice with professional and kind attorneys.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and management of discovery processes, ensuring all relevant information is collected efficiently.

Process, format and serve documents prepared by attorneys; responsibilities include mailing out documents and proof of service in a timely manner.

File answers with the court, with a particular focus on e-filing and submission.

Cooperate with attorney service providers such as OneLegal Signal, primarily operating locally for efficient filing.

Manage the corporate calendar, liaising with other staff members to ensure the same. Familiarity with Amicus is a plus.

Record significant documents with the county recorder's office, including mechanics liens and judgment liens.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years' experience in civil litigation.

Strong knowledge of legal procedures and court system, preferably within the California jurisdiction.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Experience in e-filing (State) is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Paralegal certification preferred.
