The Raymond Corporation seeks a Packaging Engineer in Greene, NY to design, develop, test, procure, and validate packaging solutions. Work steel shipping racks, custom and standard returnable containers and expendable containers for delivery of product from suppliers to warehouses and line-side consumption points. Perform engineering analysis, test, and design of various basic to complex packaging solutions to protect parts and prevent quality issues within optimal cost constraints and company requirements. Serve as a packaging subject matter expert and provide solutions, including sustainable packaging throughout part delivery / material value stream from supplier to assembly line-side delivery. Coordinate with customer stakeholders, logistics partners, and parts suppliers to establish project schedules, design criteria, procurement strategies, and logistic requirements. Develop corporate packaging procedures and make modifications as required. Provide technical support to validate that packaging meets program requirements. May work from home 1-2 days per week. May travel to Muscatine, Iowa plant 1-2 times per year.Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Packaging Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years (or Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years progressive years) of experience in packaging engineering. Experience must include 3 years of experience (1) packaging design and supplier management; (2) automotive and industrial packaging; (3) CREO or previous 3D modeling experience; (4) packaging and racking for totes, pallets, and BULKPAK; (5) writing, designing, and implementing change requests, and (6) material handling and material flow projects.
