Job Description
The role reports into the Solution Capability Leader for Cloud Infrastructure and Data Services within Oracle Consulting ANZ, and will encompass architecture, provisioning, migration, upgrades, stabilisation of Oracle Databases including:
Migration, consolidation, upgrade and general architectural advisory services related to Oracle DB and Oracle OCI
Assistance and advice on Oracle Modern Best Practices with respect to Oracle databases including operational aspects
Cross-platform database migrations and migration of data from non-Oracle DB platforms, e.g. SQL Server and DB/2-zOS
* Due to the requirement of the role, Australian Citizenship is a minimum requirement for the application to be considered*
* Baseline of higher clearance favorable *
Responsibilities
Required Proficiencies/Skills
Senior Oracle Database Administrator, Minimum 10 years’ experience & Certification preferred
Experience with Oracle OCI or similar hyperscale cloud architecture and cloud migrations
Proven technical skills/understanding and experience of database migrations including cross-platform migration
Experience with high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, zero downtime migration and upgrades, BAU Operations for Oracle DB
Experience with DB performance tuning and standard methodologies for sizing and configuration
Must have delivered previous upgrades of large database environments (1TB+) with consideration
Knowledge/experience of at least one on-premise Oracle application preferred (PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, JDE, Siebel)
Previous experience in a Consulting or customer facing role
Complementary Capabilities (Preferred)
Certification, or if not, then demonstrable experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar (AWS/Azure)
Experience with Exadata and/or Exadata Cloud Service
Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database
Experience with security principles and Oracle database security options
Experience with Oracle middleware including WebLogic/Tuxedo
Experience with Infrastructure as Code for automated deployment/cloning of databases and OCI components
Experience with Infrastructure as Code for automated patching and configuration/compliance reporting
Consulting Skills
This is a customer facing Consulting role with some travel required. As such, the following soft skills are required.
Good communication skills and ability to communicate complex topics to both Technical and Non-Technical audiences
Leadership skills to provide technical mentorship to small teams of offshore and junior DBA’s
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to development of knowledge and IP
Ability to anticipate and mitigate technical problems and challenges
Willingness to travel
