As a team staff optician, the successful candidate will interact with faculty, staff, optometric students and patients on a daily basis. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide an excellent patient experience are required. Applicants must be knowledgeable of and be able to explain to patients proper frame selection, lens materials, and lens designs; possess exemplary fitting and adjusting skills; and have experience working with vision insurance plans. Individual must be sales savvy and aware of current trends and developments in lenses and eyewear. Must be flexible with scheduling needs of department.Requirements: • Current New York State Opticians’ License • Ability to commit to a schedule including some evenings and Saturdays • Electronic medical records experience and knowledge of vision care plansThis is a New York State Civil Service position with a total annual salary of $46,933 and a generous benefits package.
