Summary
The Operator 2 Castings position is responsible for the production and processing of high quality aluminum castings that are essential to railcar production.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Pours aluminum into permanent molds and operates tilts
Grinds and straightens castings
Loads and operates the Heat Treat Machine, Age Oven, Core Machine and Milling Machine
Assembles parts in fabrication
Cores knock and saw castings
Welds assembles onto castings
Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained
Qualifications
The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
6+ months experience in manufacturing environment
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to communcate professionally, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
High school education or equivalency test / GED
6+ months experience pouring metal

Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment.
