Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Operations Technician for our plant in Detroit, MI. The Operations Technician is responsible for operating, controlling, and monitoring the process of the Detroit Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) to produce Hydrogen (H2), Steam, and Demineralized Water (H20) to our customer in accordance with contractual guidelines with the use of our highly automated DCS controlled plant systems.
Controlling and monitoring the continuous manufacturing processes to produce Hydrogen (H2), Steam, and Demineralized Water (H2O)
Work with compressors, pumps, and other pieces of rotating equipment.
Perform some minor electrical and instrumentation work.
Taking field process readings
Taking and recording Boiler Chemistry water samples
Performing equipment inspections
Forklift operations.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Ability to read and interoperate plant P&ID’s and drawings.
Maintain / participate in ensuring all safety, environmental, and quality programs are maintained at inspection ready standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Computer skills required for Digital Control Systems (DCS) operation, as well as basic computer skills in data-processing, and electronic communication (MS Office)
Ability to work rotating shifts and fulfill on-call shift requirements.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must work towards receiving a City of Detroit Stationary Engineer 1st Class Boiler license within the applicable time period.
Must maintain a strong mechanical aptitude.
