Job Description
Eurofins Environment Testing North Central is searching for a TechnicalManager in University Park, IL (Chicago suburb).
The Technical Manager serves as a technical resource for Eurofins\'personnel and clients in their field of expertise. Researches, develops,and implements new analytical methods and recommends processimprovements to existing analyses. Manages technical projects andconducts evaluation of technologies. Writes and reviews laboratory SOPsand trains employees on methods and procedures. Performs sample analysisand final data review, and maintains and troubleshoots laboratoryinstruments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

Acts as a resource to laboratory personnel as needed to providetechnical guidance and assistance.Assist in training and mentoring associates in the laboratoryEnsure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards inlaboratory operationsEnsure coverage and performanceFoster morale and teamworkSolves technical problems in the laboratory includingtroubleshooting instruments and develops or modifies methods asneeded to meet customer requirements.Performs sample analyses, data write up, and final data review.Maintains and repairs analytical instruments to reduce downtime.Install new instruments and execute applicable method developmentConsults with clients, regulators, and others regarding technicalaspects of analyses.Suggests and implements process improvements to maximizeproductivity, save costs, and decrease turn around time.Develops or amends department SOP\'s.Participates in Eurofins\'best practice process to spread besttechnical practices and develop Eurofins\'Standard OperatingProcedures (SOPs). Leads the implementation and follow-up of thebest practices and SOPs in the laboratory.Evaluates and adapts new technologies and methodologies.Performs non-routine analysis as required to meet the needs ofcurrent long-term clients or as a means to capture new clients insupport of business development efforts.Manages technical projects.Prepares reports and recommendations for senior laboratorymanagement.Sets up and conducts training for analyst and technicians in area ofexpertise.Assists in the development of health and safety protocols.Consults with Project Managers and sales staff regarding analyticaltechniques and capabilities.Investigates issues raised by clients, QA, sales, and otherdepartments to find root cause and implement corrective action andproper response.Contributes technical information and evaluation for deciding majornew equipment purchases and capital expenditures.Carries out technical and business tasks as assigned by theLaboratory Director or Business Unit ManagerThe ideal candidate would possess
