Operations Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead our day to day manufacturing plant operations for the membrane facility in St. Louis, MO. This position requires strong personnel leadership skills to direct professional and hourly staff as well as technical capability to support and solve problems in a multi-product, high technology production plant environment. Interfacing is required with engineering, maintenance, commercial, procurement, and development teams in order to complete business plans, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong business growth through development of new products and applications.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Ensure operational compliance to Corporate and Local EHS, HR, QMS, and Regulatory requirements.
Safety leadership that ensures a strong focus on worker safety, alignment to safety standards, compliance with a basic safety process (BSP), and continuous improvement of plant processes to reduce risk exposure.
Data review and analysis of KPI’s (Downtime, Scrap, Yield, Utilization, Schedule Alignment, On Time Delivery, Labor costs etc.) to identify plant issues and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with all department leads (Quality, Planning, Engineering, Maintenance etc.) to improve resources and deliver the near-term production plan, and long-term business plan.
Management of operations staff including talent management and succession planning, compensation planning, staffing changes, and handling of routine personnel issues.
Strong participation in the site SPC and Waste Reduction Teams to drive manufacturing improvements in quality & productivity to deliver > $0.5MM in annual cost savings.
Develop and propose capital improvements to mitigate bottlenecks and ensure that planned capacity is sufficient to meet customer demand and maintain a competitive advantage.
Ensure operational compliance with AS9100/ISO9001/PED Quality Management Systems.
Ability to analyze and solve complex process and equipment issues.
Strong quality and improvement toolkit, using such methods as: PDCA, LEAN & DMAIC, RCCA, FMEA, Process Mapping, KAIZEN, Quick Change, Standardized Work.
Experience with AS9100/ISO9001/PED Quality Management Systems.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 7 years of operations / manufacturing experience
Excellent interpersonal skills to multitask, prioritize, facilitate, and inspire change and Improvement
A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop impactful individuals and teams.
SAP experience, with ability to sort and disseminate actionable data a plus
