  Job Description

  Position Overview

  The O&M Tech will be a Team player performing operations, maintenance,and craft technical support to achieve safe, cost effective, andenvironmentally acceptable operation and maintenance of all equipment at theSpindle Hill Energy Center.

  Responsibilities

  Within the limits of authorized objectives, policies, procedures,plans, and budgets, the O&M Technician has the primary responsibilitiesand commensurate authority to:Provide continuous support to promote and enhance the Team concept at thestation.Provide daily operations and maintenance support as needed.Provide craft technical support in one or more skill areas includingmechanical, electrical, or instruments and controls.Acquire and maintain plant operations certification in all areas toeffectively operate a combined cycle power station.Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmentalprocedures.The O&M Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled andunscheduled overtime.The individual will have interactions with: Spindle Hill energy centerstaff, Xcel Energy Personnel, Equipment Vendors

  Requirements

  Each individual must initially qualify to perform work in at least one of thefollowing skill areas:Mechanic with basic welding skillsElectricianInstruments and ControlsEach individual will be provided training to qualify as a combined cycle plantoperator and must maintain this proficiency level.Each individual must demonstrate a high ability to learn and be willing toperform various Team support functions such as safety coordinator, trainingcoordinator, and Team Leader.Each individual must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable drivingrecord.

  Advancement in pay level is based upon the following:

  Maintaining competency in initial technical skills.Learning and maintaining competency in plant operational skills.Learning and demonstrating competency in additional technical skills throughthe successful completion of the approved training plan.Each technical skill combination is addressed in the payroll policy.

  Salary Range

  Pay Range:

  $31.91 - $53.53
