JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of the University Registrar is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Records Specialist 2/3 in our customer service area. This position’s primary focus is on enrollment services. Currently, this position operates on a hybrid work schedule in accordance with Penn State's Flexible Work Arrangement Policy HR107 (https://policy.psu.edu/policies/hr107).
Responsibilities include:
Providing student services face-to-face, through email and by telephone; responding and composing email correspondence, maintaining confidential student records
Greeting customers and assisting them with course registration, official transcript orders, enrollment and degree verification requests, and other processes related to the office
Evaluating, processing, and maintaining federal enrollment and degree compliance reporting for current and former students
Collaborating with other members of the customer service team to cover day-to-day tasks and duties and provide back up support for transcript services
Providing university, federal, enrollment, and degree policies and assist individuals with academic processes pertaining to those policies
Collecting, processing, and reconciling fees and transactions
Responding to routine requests and providing backup support, as needed, for other departments within the office
Participating on committees, in staff training sessions, and departmental meetings
Education and Experience:
This position will be filled at a level 2 or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School Diploma or higher plus 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher-level jobs.
Ability to provide excellent customer service, problem-solving, attention to detail, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and LionPATH (Student Enrollment Management system) or similar systems are preferred.
