The purpose of this position is to assist the prothonotary and processes official documents for data entry; to maintain court dockets. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Dockets, Processes and files criminal, juvenile, and dependency filingsProvided information and assistance to general public; provides assistance with location and researching criminal cases and court proceedingsPrepares files on appeal to send to Supreme Court, Superior Court, and Commonwealth CourtProcesses passport applicationsAssists with the processing of incoming and outgoing mailAnswers telephone; provides guidance and assistance or directs caller to appropriate personnel; records and coveys messagesProvides assistance to the general public operating the public terminal computer, locating data for legal documentsReceipts money related to public copiesScanning old and new document filingsMailing various court documents to individuals, lawyers etcPrepares required forms to be sent to various state officesAssists public with marriage license applicationsPrepares various reports including motor vehicle reports, reports to A.O.P.C.; cost distribution sheets; distributes hearing lists and files court daily. Chief clerk to assist publicTrain those to assist with position when not available
