Summary This vacancy is for Office Automation Technician position in the Department of Commerce, Denver Regional Office located in Lakewood, CO. Responsibilities Provides technical support and assistance for all laptop automation activities in the regional office and ensures that proper software has been installed and ready for shipment to the field representatives. Operates, tracks and maintains computer hardware, software, electronic and telecommunications in order to support office automation activities. Develops methods for automating administrative and program reports from electronic systems (i.e., Internet, CD-ROM, Microfiche, databases, electronic bulletin boards.) through various software types. Specialized Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes providing technical support for laptop computers; installing hardware/software packages; troubleshooting problems, developing and preparing program reports; maintaining electronic mail and telecommunications in order to support office automation activities. OR Education: Education cannot be substituted at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
