GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The part-time Office Assistantwill be responsible for providing clerical support to the Department ofArts & Communication & Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences &Human Services. Responsibilities include maintaining department records,preparing agendas & minutes of departmental meetings, processing supplyorders, & general office/clerical duties. Hours will be 8:00 am to 2:00pm three days a week during the academic year. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:Assist Department Chairs with procedural operations of departmentalbusiness. Provide high quality customer service to students, faculty,staff, & the community. Create & maintain departmental files. Preparemonthly department meeting agendas & applicable paperwork; attendmonthly department meetings & record & transcribe monthly departmentmeeting minutes. Order all departmental supplies. Keep track of facultyattendance & submit weekly report. Communicate with students & Collegedepartments as appropriate. Answer telephone calls & emails. Provideroutine information according to established procedures. Receive &distribute incoming mail & packages, etc., to appropriate individuals inthe departments. Operate st&ard office machines & equipment. Assist withannual Media Conference. Assist with grant-related administrativefunctions such as: time & effort tracking, proposal & reportpreparation, proofreading & editing & requisitions & purchase orders.Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Strong communication & organizational skills, attentiveness to detail &demonstrated clerical experience. Ability to work amicably & tactfullywith students, staff, & the general public. Excellent time managementskills, aptitude for proper task prioritization & a results-orientedwork process. Ability to type & familiarity with MS Office. Strongdocument management skills including the ability to assemble items ofinformation, work accurately with names, numbers, codes, & symbols,maintain accurate records & file materials in accordance withestablished procedures.
