The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services within the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) division of agency.
The Forensics Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.
The Unit Coordinator will provide technical and administrative support to treatment units at the Forensic Mental Health Program.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling and clerical tasks for treatment units
Maintain unit calendar to reflect doctors rounding schedules, clinical review meetings, treatment team meetings, and community integration outings
Coordinate and act as a liaison with the scheduling office for patient medical appointments
Send treatment review notifications to case managers and others that are identified by the social worker.
Perform various clerical functions such as, transcription; copying and distributing documents; processing legal documents; collecting, tracking and summarizing data; overseeing administrative record management and movement; maintaining current employee and patient information systems, ordering and maintaining of supplies

Adapting to Change: Anticipate, keep pace and be proactive in addressing patients’ evolving needs within a development service delivery system.
Minimum Qualifications
Customer service skills sufficient to: (1) provide prompt, courteous and accurate information in person, on the phone, and through email; (2) effectively communication and elicit information with tact and diplomacy in difficult situations; and (3) proactively resolve issues or concerns.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Knowledge of English sufficient to compose correspondence with accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation; and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Desktop Publishing skills sufficient to produce materials and develop and maintain mailing lists and other documentation accurately and with proficiency.
Spreadsheets skills sufficient to develop and modify basic spreadsheets, and sort and extract data
Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete a variety of reports, letters and data summaries
Word processing skills sufficient to develop and modify a variety of correspondence, records and reports; perform mail merges, develop forms and charts.
Experience multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
