Requirement Summary Our Ocean Systems Group isseeking an engineering team lead to be part of a multi-disciplinary teamworking on projects that involve communications in the ocean ?underwater, above the water, and across the ocean interface. Theengineer will lead ocean communications and networking projects with anemphasis on small, disadvantaged platforms. Innovation and problemsolving will be a major part of your position along with the ability towork productively with a diverse team of researchers. Responsibilities ?Self-starter with the ability to recognize and creatively solve complexproblems ? Serve both as an individual contributor and lead a projectteam ? Take ownership of project success and maintain customerrelationships ? Perform experiments in an independent & inventive manner? Identify and manage project schedules and risks ? Support businessdevelopment through proposal writing and the pursuit of strategicpartnerships ? Document project progress Desired QualificationsExperience with some of the following: ? Undersea acoustic communicationmodems and networking ? Antenna design, characterization, and testing ?Ad hoc networking & RF mesh networking principles ? RF integration andtest, including familiarity with radios and test equipment ? Acousticdata compression techniques ? Audio digital signal processing (DSP) ?System-level design thinking and systems engineering ? Anti-submarineWarfare (ASW) systems and applications including sonobuoys, sensors, andunmanned vehicles ? Leading and coordinating cross-discipline researchefforts The ideal candidate will have broad interest in these areas andthe desire to lead a team to develop and field a product in a chosenarea. Excellent presentation and writing skills are a plus to accomplishthis goal. Education/Experience ? MS degree in Engineering, Physics, ora closely related field desired ? 5+ years of experience with listedqualifications.
