Job Description

Assists patients in obtaining the maximum level of independence in activities of daily living. Performs direct/indirect nursing procedures and technical/laboratory activities as appropriate and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility

Administers nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.Provides hygienic care to patients assigned and oversees/assists with activities of daily living; performs assigned treatments and procedures

Takes vital signs of patients assigned and reports values to nurse in charge.

Reports observations and unusual conditions of patients to registered nurse.

Prepares patients for meals and helps feed them as assigned.

Provides constant observation for patients requiring increased security to prevent harmful behavior.

Follows principles of infection control and patient safety.

Carefully assists patient to wheelchair or stretcher and transports, as needed.

Collects required specimens as directed; e.g., urine, feces, sputum.

Maintains the environment of patients.Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment in patient's room

Participates in ensuring that work areas are clean.

Replenishes supplies as necessary.

Functions effectively within the organizational structure.Accepts assignment, seeks clarification as needed, and carries out assignment.

Reports patient care observations and findings to RN regularly

Participates as an integral part of the nursing team in assuming additional duties and responsibilities.

Maintains competence by attending in-service education programs.

Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent, required

Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program, preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $21.57-$23.77/hour
