Job purpose
Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments on patients during the admission process to assist in the plan of care identifying appropriate Level of care based on their drug and medical history. Ongoing assessments and evaluations on Withdrawal Management and Residential patients to determine individualized nursing treatment plans and interventions. Oversees the in-patient nursing schedule ensuring all nursing shifts are covered. Management of the department schedule includes 24 hour on call to manage urgent scheduling needs. This supervisor will work the open/uncovered shifts for inpatient nursing services. Administrative duties will include but are not limited to the following; Stocks orders for; supplies and medications for inpatient units. Record keeping of all documents needed for JC review.
Duties and responsibilities
Accurately implements all directives from the Director of Nursing
Holds mandatory trainings and department meetings as required
Demonstrates the ability to perform the skills that support CAT nursing competencies
Completes and accurately documents all admissions, ensuring that admitted clients are appropriate candidates for the LOC (Level of care) they are seeking treatment for per ASAM criteria.
Completes timely, accurate and thorough documentation on all patient assessments/ interventions, transfers and discharges per Policy and Procedure
Administers medications and documents per procedure and protocol
Monitors all patients for adverse drug reactions and completes required documentation
Able to provide nursing care to patients in withdrawal management, Residential, inpatient nursing admissions as assigned by Director of Nursing
Able to complete ongoing assessments on all Inpatient Withdrawal Management/Residential patients and provides appropriate nursing interventions based on assessments. Documents all nursing interventions in compliance with Policy and Procedures.
Provides education to the patients to promote an understanding of the impact drugs and alcohol have on the medical/mental health of individuals
Reviews online controlled drug record (OARRS, KASPER) and reports to the Physician
Utilizes Sigmund /Aura/Electronic Medical Record system for all appropriate documentation
Reports to work promptly at assigned hours. Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.
