Position Details: Hartford Healthcare’s Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their cardiac surgery ICU team. The successful candidate will support patient care from the point of admission to discharge in service, Step-Down, and ICU. Duties include managing multiple patients with varied critical illness, comprehensive physical assessments, interpretation of diagnostic results, hemodynamic/ventilator management, and invasive procedures. Extensive training and supervision are provided to the Advanced Practitioners for skills such as arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and removal of pacer wires. The Advanced Practitioners are part of a multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care of patients under the direction of the attending cardiac surgeons in collaboration with the cardiologists and consultants. * * Role: Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102 Setting: Inpatient, cardiac surgical services Schedule:Full-time, includes day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage.Premium differentials offered. In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
