Position SummaryNurse Practitioner will provide a full range of ambulatory health care services for the MSU community and support to Occupational Health and Travel Clinic. Will also provide direct clinical services such as counseling patients traveling abroad regarding health risks and appropriately immunizing; conducting pre-employment physicals; performing preventative healthcare for current employees; conducting DOT physicals and conducting outside immunization clinics for MSU community. Medial assessment of patients and diagnosis of symptoms. Development of a treatment plan. Medical record chard documentation that supports diagnoses and thought process for treatment plan. The successful candidate would be committed to understanding the special needs of University students and employees. Clinic hours range from 7:30am to 5:00pm, M-F.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a Masters in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in direct nursing care in a specialized area or a Master's Degree in Nursing; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in direct nursing care in a specialized area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse and specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan. May require certification by the American Nurses' Association in a specialty area.
Desired QualificationsExperience in the area of international travel and/or occupational health; experience doing phlebotomy, spirometry, alcohol testing and HIV counseling; proficiency with Windows based computer programs.
