  The Nurse Manager supports a team of clinical staff members and the operations and business development of multiple pediatric specialty clinics held in the Ambulatory Care Clinic (ACC) at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. This role will provide Academic, Operational, and Clinical leadership. The Nurse Manager will provide operational oversight and support for multiple sub-specialty practice groups and collaborate with SLUCare Physician Group. The Nurse Manager will also provide Operational leadership to staff management and clinical operations oversight, enhancing existing operations to improve patient access, quality of care, service delivery and revenue cycle functions while maintaining operational budget accountability, and creating opportunities for program and clinic location growth. Clinical leadership will be provided through sustaining the standards of nursing practice throughout the scope of responsibilities as well as driving the structures, processes, and expectations for clinical nursing care. As a nursing leader this role sustains the nursing leadership model to ensure all clinical needs are met with both direct and indirect clinical and non-clinical staff reports which is required by regulatory and Magnet Designation standards.

  Job Summary:

  Manages activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s).

  Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within unit.

  Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

  Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s). Develops and implements policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.

  Monitors and adheres to budget. Approves or monitors expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.

  Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  EDUCATION

  Bachelor's degree in NursingEXPERIENCE

  Two years' registered nurse experience, with demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility OR one year of registered nurse experience plus one year of relevant leadership experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  Rare climbing.
