　　An RN Extern – LPN Qualified is a nursing student who is in their final year at an accredited nursing program prior to graduation. Provides nursing care using the nursing process under the direction of the RN and in collaboration with other health care team members.

　　Must work minimum of 32 hours a month.

　　The RN Extern – LPN Qualified role works directly under the supervision of an RN.

　　• Assists the RN in the application of the nursing process to assigned patients.

　　• Provides or assists patients with ADLS.

　　• Documents assessments, interventions and patient response, and initiates care plans in the Electronic

　　Qualifications:

　　Education

　　Current State of Michigan Practical Nurse Licensure (LPN) required.

　　In and/or starting the last year of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN) and remains in good standing. Completes required elements to maintain Michigan Practical Nurse licensure. Must maintain current BLS certification.

　　Related Experience

　　Minimum: Must have successfully completed the first year of nursing clinicals and skills validation through an accredited ADN nursing program.

　　Preferred: Nurse Extern or LPN experience
