About Nurse Extern I PRN

The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) will perform clinical duties under the direction of a skilled Registered Nurse Preceptor, performs basic functions of patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

The SNE will have competencies completed for both extern and nurse aide positions provided through a competency checklist from their nursing program.

Reports to: Registered Nurse Preceptor, Department Director, Chief Nursing Officer

Minimum EducationCandidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program and completed the first semester.Candidates must be in good standing with the Registered Nurse Program

Required SkillsBasic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days from date of hire.
