We are seeking a Nuclear Quality Engineer to support the North America Gas Services Quality Management. The scope of the job incorporates all quality related, and customer determined activities to meet the targeted results regarding quality. This position will serve as the internal Quality Engineer to the Nuclear Project group within Gas Service providing guidance and support related to planning, reporting, and coordinating activities of quality in nuclear projects.
This role enables you to regularly collaborate with different partners with a focus on contract adherence, project quality deliverables, nonconformance resolution/prevention, and customer satisfaction! This role also provides autonomy and growth opportunities to foster a variety of work experiences and will require travel to supplier and customer facilities during source release.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Quality Management System: Define and implement a QM system for on-site application in accordance to the QM system applied by the relevant BU; support project management in planning and securing milestone results; cooperate with QM of the project-related BU and other functions e.g. environmental protection, health and safety at work.
Quality planning : Establish and monitor quality plan, define quality targets based on project critical factors and define methods/tools based on internal standards. Support project team on (a) project deliverables - defined target values or characteristics as per project target agreement (PM agreement) to be achieved (b) quality related KPIs or key figures i.e. provided by the line management.
Quality reporting: Report quality status, quality incidents and root-cause-analysis to Project Management (PM), and other defined parties, jointly with the PM team, based on determined critical metrics, key figures and specified characteristics. Communicate quality targets to all people affected or involved. Raise project-endangering situations to QM.
Customer integration: Establish and ensure processes to a) analyze and monitor fulfillment of contractual and committed requirements b) management of professional feedback to and from the customer, c) manage complaints.
Quality in processes and projects : Ensure execution of quality plan and quality gate process through active involvement in readiness checks and participation in quality gate meetings. Reject releases e.g. at quality gates in case of non-conformity and initiate corrective actions.
Continuous improvement: Plan, initiate and coordinate continuous improvement actions for all phases of the project. Ensure good practice sharing and feedback of experience e.g. through continuous improvement workshops (esp. Lessons learned) and project assessments.
Qualification on quality: Identify qualification requirements and initiate trainings for project employees with regards to knowledge of quality methods to be applied, process awareness and expert knowledge.
Audits and assessments: Plan and conduct project audits, assessments, reviews and participate in status meetings. Ensure implementation of (improvement) measures.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.), preferably in an Engineering, Business, or related field.
5+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following: manufacturing/construction quality, field service quality, project quality management, Quality Assurance.
Act as an expert and support the Project Manager as partner by planning, supervising, ensuring and reporting of appropriate activities with regards to failure prevention and effective proceedings.
Strong analytical, facilitation and presentation skills with emphasis on proven use of RCA tools. Ability to drive collaboration to produce effective results!
Exercise authority to intervene at any stage in the project, in case of non-conformance in proceedings and project results.
