This position reports to Senior Manager, Global Chemicals Innovation and is based at Skillman, NJ (with an anticipated move to Summit, NJ).

What you will do
The NPD Chemical Manager, NA Procurement is responsible for driving the development of category practices for Raw material and R&D category, including sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement’s value contribution while achieving compliance with policies, strategies, and processes. Additional responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Striving to meet the mutually agreed Procurement targets contributing to the overall budgeting targets
Facilitate, gathering Brand vision on business needs and Supply Chain specific inputs/requirements working within the Chemical category team and Innovation (NPD) organization
Ensuring a sustainable and competitive sourcing solution for Innovation pipeline
Executing sourcing projects for new products according to the individual category strategies
Contribute to robust category strategies in collaboration with global category leaders, aligned with regional business and supply chain needs including the strict observance of the chemical’s suppliers core list strategy and preferred materials choices to be implemented by any R&D formulator (Basket of preferred Materials).
Accountable to define and achieve clear targets in conjunction with his/her Procurement counterparts and business stakeholders
Leads sourcing initiatives for Product Innovation and NPD:
Working closely with R&D and Initiative Management to understand the key upcoming launches that are taking place over the next two to three years.
Provide sourcing solutions that comply to our chemicals sourcing strategy, fit the business need, are sensibly sourced and competitively priced.
Working on projects in pipeline with end-to-end scope from initiation to execution, always working closely with global procurement category leaders.
Contribute with execution of productivity initiatives to increase profit & deliver bottom line savings while keeping track of “cost out” opportunities to be implemented in Y2/Y3 on every launch.
Ensuring continuous connection with categories to share Brand vision on Business needs for each specific NPD initiative.
Contributes to commercial supplier relationship with key/major suppliers within the defined category scope
Participates to the relationship management of suppliers in the selected category and region, monitors performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines and KPIs.
Supports the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations influencing the category supplier relationship owners.
Contributes to supplier scouting, selection and development including recommendation of robust BCPs and supplier dual sourcing options right from the start for every new initiative.
Is responsible for qualification of dual source and/or negotiation of risk management plans (such as safety stock holding, contractual protection, capacity allocation etc.) aligned with category strategies and supply chain stakeholders.
Manages relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives
Acts as escalation point for category related issues and drives resolution in line with global Procurement policies
Achieves “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives
Collaborates and aligns with global / regional / local procurement teams as applicable
Is a business partner to the regional procurement teams to create and outline contribution for budget improvements
Supports resource allocation between global and regional / local category initiatives
Early engagement with R&D on New Product Development projects to ensure launches are aligned with raw material Sourcing Strategies.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is required.
6 years of Supplier chain procurement experience is required.
Experience on leading, developing and executing global and regional direct material category strategies is required.
Experience on cost modelling, sustainability, negotiation, contracting etc. related to Supplier chain procurement is required.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) is preferred.
Technical, Marketing or Complex Project Management experience is a plus
What’s in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $97,000 to $166,750. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
