About NP Cardiology - Part -Time

  Ideal Candidate

  Certified Nurse Practitioner with at least 2 years of post-training experience and background in Cardiology

  Interest in a mix of Clinic and Hospital work

  Focus on being a team player and working collaboratively

  Practice Highlights

  Multi-specialty Cardiology practice with 16 cardiologists and 10 APCs; EP team is 2 physicians and 3 APCs

  Great team approach with supportive colleagues

  FTE range of 0.8 (1,664 hours/year) to 1.0 (2,080 hours/year)

  General Clinic Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

  Support offered by MAs, LPNs, RNs and dedicated device nurses

  Patient appointments are 30 minutes; anticipated patients per day: 12-14

  No call

  PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of northwest Washington since 1890 with PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, now a 253-bed, two-campus hospital providing a Level II Trauma Center and a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. PeaceHealth's Whatcom Region also includes the comprehensive heart care services of the Cardiovascular Center at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center as well as the primary and specialty care provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group.

  Guaranteed first-year hourly rate, based on a 1.0 FTE and years of direct experience (0-3, 3-5, 5-9, 10+): $66.45-78.31/hour

  Employment Bonus

  Relocation stipend based on miles between locations

  Education Loan Reimbursement program (if applicable and eligible)

  CME: up to $3,300 per calendar year for CME and/or professional dues/fees (based on 1.0 FTE; prorated for lower FTE)

  Job Summary

  Within scope of practice and in alignment with both hospital staff bylaws and PHMGs physician supervision expectations, responsible for advanced level of nursing evaluation, clinical assessment, prescribing and monitoring medications and follow-up care for patient. Responsible for patient and family teaching.

  Essential Functions

  Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.

  Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.

  Gives directions to nursing and other staff.

  Prescribes medications and treatments and ongoing medication management. Orders lab and diagnostic tests when appropriate and interprets test results.

  Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.

  Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations according to established standards.

  Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or “hands-on training” and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  Required : Drug Enforcement Admin and

  Required : Drivers License with proof of auto insurance and

  Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support and

  Preferred : Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)

  Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments. (Required)
