Requisition Summary
Seeking energetic, independent engineer with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks. Primary responsibility will be providing subject matter expert guidance to the PACCAR organization through the position of a Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) Engineer in the Vehicle Performance group.
Job Description
The NVH Engineer will be responsible for activities related to NVH issue resolution at Peterbilt in Denton, Texas. Duties include baselining and benchmarking, research and development, conceptual design and prototype evaluation, simulation support, design guidance, and other duties supporting various aspects of the NVH, Ride, and Vehicle Dynamics Vehicle Properties and Performance.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Function as a Subject Matter Expert in NVH
Collect and analyze NVH data and conduct root cause analysis
Direct and/or conduct research and concept development related to NVH
Manage and be a liaison with multiple 3rd party NVH related test facilities and/or Technical Engineering services
Develop and perform NVH simulations resulting in expanded in-house capabilities
Utilize PTC Creo as a design tool
Be an advocate for the vision of the NVH Vehicle Property
Support the NVH Vehicle Property definition and performance validation
Support early definition of new products and continue with on-going support throughout the development process.
Track and report on status of achieving program goals related to NVH Performance
Acquire and maintain NVH test equipment
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck components and systems preferred
Previous design experience of parts and assemblies preferred
Strength in handling multiple tasks and projects required
MatLab and/or Python programming experience preferred
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Conducting data analysis and generating graphs/charts using Excel, MiniTab, or Tableau required
Excel VBA and pivot table experience preferred
Experience presenting to Sr. Management and leading others through non-direct reporting roles preferred
Project management skills including
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) or strong desire to obtain is required
Six Sigma experience preferred

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree required.
