NETWORK OPERATIONS ENGINEER – FIREWALLS - W2 ONLY

　　ALTA IT Services has a 12 month+ opening for a Network Operations Engineer with a strong security/perimeter background to support a respected financial services customer. This role relates to issues with security perimeter, firewalls, VPN, etc. application team issues (e.g., Firewall blocking etc.) and normal handling of incident, responding to the call, submitting requests for network configurations.

　　The position may be worked as a hybrid role in the candidate’s preference of location: Philadelphia, Boston, New York city, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington DC. Remote options are available at a reduced hourly rate.

　　There is the potential for this position to convert to direct hire with the client if applicable.

　　The client is seeking an IT Engineer IV to provide network operational support for day-to-day activities and operational projects, utilizing network and ITSM tools, follow operational procedures. Uses both hardware and software engineering expertise to apply theoretical principles and methodologies to accomplish complex network operational assignments. This role entails implementation, patch management, upgrades, automation improvement etc.

　　Job Responsibilities:

　　Complete configuration, installation, and support of equipment to the specifications of the business.

　　Maintain software and hardware and operating systems through regular maintenance.

　　Maintain configuration and support documentation.

　　Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.

　　Supervise the administration of systems and network devices to ensure availability of services to authorized users.

　　Maintain multi-site network operations, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance.

　　Troubleshoot malfunctions of hardware, software applications and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.

　　Qualifications:

　　Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.

　　7+ years of experience required.

　　Broad knowledge of IT network engineering and operations.

　　Detailed knowledge of 2-3 technologies in the following areas:

　　Palo Alto Firewalls

　　Zscaler ZPA, ZIA

　　Citrix VPN

　　F5 load balancers (GTM, LTM)

　　Working knowledge of SolarWinds

　　Understanding of automation, i.e., Terraform, Ansible tower, etc.

　　Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM systems

　　Working knowledge of Jira

　　Experience with system capacity and planning, as well as functional configuration and audit.

　　Experience with system planning and capacity tools and analyses.

　　HOURLY RATE: $75/Hr. Range for hybrid ($68/hr. for remote) – Benefits available.
